Halfway through...

Level 1 of the 30 day Shred! Just finished Day 5 yesterday!

Well, I can honestly say it's definitely a workout, I'm soaking (gross image isn't it?) by the end of it, even at Day 5. I LOVE the fact that it's only a 20 minute workout, that's one of the best things about it I think.

Here's a list of "observations"
  • I STILL have the wimpiest arms on the planet. I still do the wimpy version and still have to pause a lot. It's disturbing the amount of cracking that comes from my elbows which I hope isn't bad, no pain, just a lot of cracking.
  • I'm not feeling a lot from those weights related exercises anymore. I may go out to buy myself some heavier weights. I had some 1 lb ones for some physical therapy I had on my shoulder injury...maybe 3 lbs.
  • I think I'm wheezing. I feel like this little old woman when I'm doing the punching exercise...maybe because of all the cardio from the butt kicking...
  • For the life of me, I think I'm slaughtering those crunch related exercises.  That last one, I'm still dying...I feel like I'm lifting my head instead of using my abs.  The reason why, I'm not feeling a ton from the ab exercises. The only time I ever felt like my abs were on fire was when I did martial arts one summer and we had ab conditioning exercises. Now those KILLED, and I wouldn't be able to laugh without pain.
  • Those side lunges and arm raises, I never realized it before, but my shoulders crack too! :P I do a modified version to avoid the cracking now. Still raising them, but not in front where they cause the most cracking!
Anyone out there have funny exercise stories that they care to share? :)

I just started the Shred too! I'm on day 4 today. I also don't get much from the abs section, but I am also in love with abs and can do them for like 30 minutes straight (don't get the wrong idea here, I have nowhere near a nice stomach :)) so I never really feel anything. I find myself focusing really hard on my ab muscles to get the most work out of them in the 30 sec she gives us. Good Luck!

Okay, I think I may be convinced, next week I am starting 30 day shred :) You should look up 8 minute abs on youtube, it's ridiculously cheesy and 80s, but the next day you will definitely feel it!

Hal: I think I'm just messing up with the abs section (I never really understand the whole hold your stomach tight) thing. :) I also thinking I'm pulling on my neck because I get so tired and no stomach muscles whatsoever. Hehehe

Maisy: Try it! It's on youtube as well if you want to try first before buying the DVD.

Children on the Nineties: DO IT! Nothing like peer pressure right! You can try it out online..and I'll look up the 8 minute abs thing, can't hurt right since I'm not hurting now since I don't think I'm doing them correctly ;). Let me know how it goes!

Wow, I think I am going to have to get 30 Day Shred. I have thought about it a ton. I mean I have a gym membership, but I heard this was intense.

Trixie: Go for it! :) I'm sure you'll do great. I think the pushups are the things that kill me. And I think I mess up the stomach exercises but it is definitely a workout!
