My new betta!

I went and purchased my first betta today!

It is currently swimming around in it's new home. I'm a happy camper~and hopefully so is the fish!

At the store, I had picked out 5 bettas, then whittled it down to 3. The store people probably thought I was nuts since I was taking so much time. BUT, some of those fish don't react when you pick up the cup...I avoided those...since I wanted a feisty one!

The colors (as seen in the store):

1) Whitish body with fushia fins
2) Purplish/bluish with hints of red with shimmery fins
3) Bluish black body with bluish shimmery fins

There was one at the store that I saw a few days ago, but someone else must have purchased it since I couldn't find it today. It was so unusual and pretty. Mostly a purplish/bluish/greenish body with fins that had those gradients ending in white tips...the fins were gorgeous!

I ended up choosing the purplish/reddish/bluish one...now that I've brought it home and put it in it's new home it's looking more magenta/purple/reddish under the tank light. This one's also was unique in that it's

Trying to think of a name for the little guy...I have a few ideas running around in my head! ;-) But haven't decided on one just yet! I'll try to post pics and his new name once I decide.

Betta fish are fun to have... surprisingly mine is still alive! =D

I'm not too good with naming animals.... I had to have someone else help me name my fish.

@vazenchick
Really? What's the name of your fish? That's cool! I wanted a little pet (my first real one) to cheer me up when I'm frustrated over work!

I was thinking of buying a fish to be my office pet. I'll have to think about it though :)

You should, they're fun to look at! Very relaxing...Unless they don't eat of course!
