So, I love my new iPod. Years ago (as in like 3-4 years ago), I told myself that I was never going to buy one of these.
1) Because they never go on sale
2) Everyone has them
But I succumbed and purchased a nano almost 2 years ago. It's served me well, going to work, working out in the gym etc. My old mp3 player busted about a year or 2 in, and I got sick of having to buy new batteries for it.
Anyways, I decided recently that I needed a PDA, I have a written planner, but realized I never bring it with me so that when I have to write things down, I don't because I didn't have the planner with me. It was too bulky to tote around with me.
So here comes the iPod touch. Not iPhone....
1) Because I currently have a great phone plan already at the fraction of the cost
2) I'm on a family plan
3) I don't really need internet all the time
On to the Touch. So far, I really really like it. Although, I feel slightly guilty for admitting this, but I love the games that I can get for this thing. You know...just to add to the already persistent procrastination syndrome that I'm suffering through, I add this as an additional distraction.
I actually had to return the first one I got because of a "low" performing battery. The second one doesn't seem bad so far. At least that's what I'm hoping, I mean what are the chances that I got 2 duds in a row right? :P
My PDA-like app that I'm using is ToodleDo. And I love that you can sync the Outlook calendar with the one on the Touch. So far so good! I've actually used this minimally for music. I'm keeping the nano for the gym since it's smaller.
I have a cover for the Touch but I'm awful at removing all the bubbles from my screen protector though. LOL!
Anyways, if you're thinking of getting one, get it! I like the idea that this can serve as a PDA...really!
Now the question is can I blog from it! ;)

I was wondering if the ToodleDo App cost money or is it a free App? And, how do I get it? :]

ToodleDo is $1.99 when I purchased it, I think it might be $2.99 now since the 1.99 was from the President's Day Sale. I think it's a pretty good app. Works really well with their online web app.
You have to go to their iTunes store to purchase it. That's the only app I've purchased so far since I really wanted a good PDA tasklist app. I've looked at the free ones, but they weren't as good, at least for me.

Lol, understandable! And aeons ago, I had a Sony Vaio, but it bluescreened on me. I've been using Dell ever since.
Depends on what you want your walkman to do. I purchased the touch because I was looking more for a PDA, the music was a plus. :)

I always want an ipod touch. I'm conflicted between that and iphone. Someone explain all the differences, please.

Hmm...well, it depends, from what I've heard now...Biggest differences are the camera and the ability to use the iPhone as a phone. If you buy the iPhone, I think you have to use ATT, plus you're slapped with their data plan, etc and a 2 year phone contract. You wouldn't be able to use the GPS location stuff with the iPod Touch which is based on wifi while the iPhone has the 3G so you have internet all the time.
I think you have a Blackberry right? If you do, and you want to replace, I would say iPhone. If you just want it in addition to the Blackberry, then I would get the Touch. I hope that makes sense.
I'm sure there are comparisons online somewhere too, maybe with people who have had both?
I've heard great things about the iTouch but thankfull I'm contented with my Creative Zen and whatever gadgets I have... coz I'd be so broke if I went for all these other stuff!
